Plantes utilisées en phytocosmétologie

Abstract

This thesis falls within the framework of natural cosmetology and aims primarily to inventory the practices involving the use of plants in the cosmetic field, highlighting their essential role in skin and hair care. In this context, an ethnobotanical survey was conducted through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 230 participants, with the objective of assessing their knowledge, habits, and perceptions regarding the cosmetic use of plants. The results revealed a growing interest in natural products and a positive reception of plant-based preparations derived from local species. As a practical example, two plant species – Pistacia lentiscus L. and Globularia alypum L. (commonly known as "Gendoul" in Algeria) – were selected for the extraction of their vegetable oils. These extracts were used in the formulation of a 100% natural healing balm, thereby showcasing the potential of plants in the field of phytocosmetology.Résumé Page | 122 This study highlights the importance of promoting local plant resources in the development of sustainable, effective, and well-tolerated cosmetic products.
