La reconversion de la mosquée de Sidi Ghanem en musée de l’histoire locale a la Vielle ville de Mila

Abstract

The medina of Mila is the subject of negotiations as regards the preservation and revitalization according to the continued degradation and to the aging of its heritage elements. The barrack is the most important sector in the old Mila of which the study convention stipulates that it is must to make for him a detailed analysis in addition of the mapping ,depending for that successively on the historical reading, landscape, morphological, functional and anthropological. Within the same sector in which localizes the mosque of Sidi Ghanem, the appropriate reflection led to follow the operation of conversion of this building into the local history museum and this is followed by redevelopment work for the rest of this archaeological site. These two actions allow not only the rehabilitation but also to make improvements to plans and facades. The strategy is capable of enriching the value of the context and the changes that are made will bring to the city the expected solution to the Algerian heritage.
