Requalification du secteur Khdaouj el amia dans le quartier Souk El Jemaa - La casbah d’Alger

Abstract

This master work is to examine the problem of the degradation of urban and architectural heritage in Algeria and the need to safeguard it by studying a case of a city, which is an illustrative example of the degraded ancient centers requiring interventions to develop a management alternative containing urban and architectural projects, which will contribute to the preservation and enhancement of its heritage. Our experimental choice was about the traditional architecture by studying the dar el Khdaudj amia sector in the Casbah of Algiers. A very illustrative example of a rich traditional heritage, by its built environment and crafts production. And to achieve the objective of safeguarding this old fabric and integrate new projects for the purpose of retraining the sector, we followed a methodology of approach of establishing readings on urban history of the city and its morphology. The study phase of its growth and the analysis of its urban character and its components will allow the alternative of urban and architectural intervention proposal that will ensure the conservation of the authenticity (preserving the structure and the urban image of the sector in the medina).
