EVALUATION DE LA FORMATION DES INTERNES EN PHARMACIE CLINIQUE ONCOLOGIQUE

Abstract

Introduction: Clinical oncology pharmacists work in close collaboration with oncology physicians. The training of pharmacists essentially involves the theoretical and practical training of students; the objective of our work was essentially to evaluate the training of interns in the field of oncological pharmacy. Material and method: This is a survey conducted using an online questionnaire among 110 pharmacy students. Results: population composed of 84.5% women, age 20 - 25 years (69.1%), faculty of Sétif (62.7%), Batna (16.4%), Algiers (6.4%), 94.5% had knowledge of oncology and 98.2% in clinical pharmacy, source: (73.4%) the clinical pharmacy module, (54.1%) the internship stage. 58.2% consider that the pharmacist has a vital role in oncology, 82.7% have completed an internship in a structure that takes care of cancer patients, 60.9% at the level of an EHS (CLCC), 20% CHU, 72.7% declared that they did not benefit from a welcome meeting at the start of their internship, and that in 72.7% they had an internship supervisor, most declared that the internship environment lived up to their expectations (45.5% ), 52.7% have done an internship in medical oncology, and they see themselves in the role of onco-pharmacist in the future (90%), students have benefited from an internship at the URCC level in 58.2% of the cases, 33.6% declare that they have carried out therapeutic education sessions covering several themes (38.9%); the students were satisfied with the internship in more than 75% of cases. Discussion: most of the students were able to benefit from basic training in oncology and oncological clinical pharmacy, the satisfaction of the internship was remarkable, which inspired the students to value the role of the pharmacist in oncology (clinical pharmacy, URCC, ETP) these results are promising for a bright future for oncological clinical pharmacy in Algeria. Conclusion: The training of our pharmacy students is essential; initiating them into the field of oncology and clinical pharmacy becomes mandatory to encourage them to play their role in optimizing the treatment of our patients while providing support and advice to patients and the oncology care team.
