Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is the study a contact model for hyperelastic materials aimed at preserving energy during dynamic impact simulations. It introduces the mathematical foundations, including Hilbert spaces, monotone operators, and variational inequalities with memory effects. A contact model combining normal compliance, unilateral constraints, and a modified Coulomb friction law is developed. The Improved Penalized Method (IPM) is proposed to simultaneously control energy conservation and penetration.
